NEW YORK, September 19, 2011 — Stephen Colbert rocks out with a special one-hour episode of “The Colbert Report” for the first time ever.

The super-sized show will feature interviews and performances by Radiohead intertwined with regular series segments.

The band is set to perform songs from their recent release “King of Limbs” including the new and previously unreleased track “The Daily Mail.”  One song will be exclusively available at www.ColbertNation.com.

Tune in to “The Colbert Report” on Monday, September 26 from 11:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m. ET/PT to watch this epic episode.

“I look forward to meeting the Radioheads and leveraging their anti-corporate indie cred to raise brand awareness for my sponsors,” said Colbert.

This ranks up there with that one time daytime TV star Kurt Cobain died when his pirate style monocular exploded in his face while he was birdwatching at his house.

Shame.

It’s not hard to pick on a guy who makes movies for 13-year-old boys, and I hate to jump on the bandwagon and do it, but he just makes it so damn easy.

Don’t get us wrong: we love a good cinematic explosion or bout of slow-mo fisticuffs. What we don’t love is the same old lists of “best bits” again and again, so we’ve skipped over the obvious here: you don’t need us to tell you that The French Connection has one of the greatest car chases of all time, or that Erika Eleniak popping out of a cake in Under Siege is the best use of “surprise boobs in a naval hostage context” probably ever. That’s why we’ve chosen some less celebrated moments (apart from Raiders, because our love for that bit verges on the psychotic). Enjoy!

He reportedly lost control of his vehicle, crossed a median and smashed his 2009 Jeep Wrangler head on into a tree. TMZ reports that they “spoke with Randy’s brother, Lanny Poffo, who tells us the wrestling legend suffered a heart attack while he was behind the wheel around 9:25 AM … and lost control of his vehicle.”

Savage’s wife Lynn was riding in the vehicle but suffered only minor injuries.

Sadly, not even the Macho Man’s heart could withstand the effects of years and years of salty, dried, mystery-meat tubesteak endorsing.

Chicago’s Jay Cutler took a lot of heat for not playing through a knee injury when the Bears lost to rival Green Bay in the playoffs, but you can’t fault him for this. Cutler, along with girlfriend Kristin Cavallari from “The Hills” and “Laguna Beach”, recently traveled to Kenya to help rebuild schools in the poverty-stricken country. This should aid Cutler with his image rehabilitation, but we get the feeling that he doesn’t really care either, which actually works out even more in his favor.

Emmitt Smith won “Dancing With The Stars”, while Jerry Rice, Jason Taylor and Warren Sapp have all finished second in the competition. Now, Hines Ward of Pittsburgh seems to be next as he and partner Kym Johnson have the highest score among all competitors through four dances, and their average score of 23.5 is also the best in the event.

Ward has shown a natural affinity for dancing and he’s a very quick learner, so there is no reason that he shouldn’t make it very far in the latest season of “Dancing With The Stars”. The only thing that seems like it’ll be able to stop Ward and Johnson is an injury, and we don’t know about Johnson, but Ward has never played less than 13 games in a season for the Steelers and he didn’t miss a game for the first eight seasons of his career. Expect to see Ward standing tall when it’s all said and done.

On May 26th, Phil, Stu, Alan, and Doug travel to Bangkok for Stu’s wedding and after what happened in Vegas didn’t stay in Vegas, Stu takes no chances and opts for a quite, calm pre-wedding brunch.

Only problem — quite, calm pre-wedding brunches don’t happen in Bangkok.

While seasoned list-veterans Gisele Bundchen and Angelina Jolie have made it onto all 10 editions, this year shows an emergence of fresh, new faces. Additionally, a very deserving Beyoncé emerged as “Woman of the Decade” by ranking high on the list an impressive nine times, and even making it to No. 1 in 2007.

Since its inaugural year in 2001, the “Top 99 Most Desirable Women” has served as a snapshot of which female stars AskMen readers favor the most based upon the attributes that men want in a companion, such as intelligence, talent, character, and beauty.

This year’s list highlights a new generation of leading women, such as Mila Kunis, Olivia Wilde and Nicki Minaj, in addition to welcoming newcomers like royal icon Kate Middleton, Glee’s Lea Michele and Mad Men’s Jessica Pare.

Actresses best known for their roles on television dominated over their movie star counterparts, with two of the top three spots on the 2011 list claimed by Blake Lively (No. 1) and Modern Family’s Sofia Vergara (No. 3). Mila Kunis, who started on the small screen with That 70’s Show but did not garner critical acclaim until her performance in Black Swan, secured the No. 2 spot. Popeater reports that following his performance at Sunday night’s Golden Globe awards, Ricky Gervais will not be asked to host HFPA’s event again — A goal he set after he was asked to return after his first stint as host. Gervais explains a year ago about his debut,

“I don’t think I went far enough… Obviously not, because they invited me back. So, I’m going to do it again, do a proper job. And I guarantee they will not invite me back.”

This year, however, he perfected his routine, went after Angelina Jolie, Charlie Sheen, Hugh Hefner, Mel Gibson, God, Tom Cruise and a few others in what was arguably one of the most entertaining awards shows in years and accomplished his mission.

An anonymous member of HFPA tells Popeater, “Ricky will not be invited back to host the show next year, for sure… For sure any movie he makes he can forget about getting nominated. He humiliated the organization last night and went too far with several celebrities whose representatives have already called to complain.”

So in typical fashion, a group of people hire a raunchy comic to host their event, can’t take his humor, get their feelings hurt and “punish” said comic by not asking him to return… I don’t think Stephen Colbert is going to be hosting any more of George W. Bush’s dinners any time soon, either.

To be fair, you can’t expect a comedian to take an award show seriously, especially one that nominates The Tourist for Best Picture — Comedy or Musical.
