I’m not exactly sure what is going on in these photos, but I can say that it looks shockingly similar to what occurs on the beaches of Half Moon Bay in Northern California where harbor seals try to unbeach themselves at the onset of low tide — it’s awkward, sluggish, and little embarassing for everyone/everything involved.
