All your life you were taught about “Mother Nature,” which focuses on the life-giving and nurturing features of nature by embodying it in the form of the mother. Images of women representing mother earth, and mother nature, are timeless. In prehistoric times, goddesses were worshiped for their association with fertility, but now that 80% of women use birth control, fertility is no longer a viable symbol of femininity. And thus this fertile-female with nature is becoming a fallacy as trees begin to show undeniable signs of a certain phallic.
