If you’re going to preface your stick breaking demonstration with stories about how cool you are, how igneous your musculoskeletal system is, and how badly your girlfriend wants to kick you in the head, you better be sure you’re able to effectively demonstrate the key components of your demonstration…

Unless of course the key components of your demonstration are talking about how cool you are, making geologic references about your body, and getting kicked in the head by your girlfriend.

Just because you broke the broom by kicking it out of your girlfriend’s hands doesn’t mean your shin won’t break when you try to kick a 2×4 at Home Depot, unless you’re Danny McBride in The Foot Fist Way.

“A man who has seen the things I’ve seen; experienced the loss and pain that I’ve experienced… I transcend race, hombre.” Words spoken by Danny McBride playing Kenny Powers (John Rocker anybody?), the washed up, alcoholic ex-pro we all learned to love in season 1 of HBO’s Eastbound & Down, are a hint at what is to come in the highly anticipated season 2 opener which airs September 26th.

Kenny finds himself in Mexico dishing heaters and firing hand cannons in what looks like a great follow up to season 1.

Cornrows? Check. Guns? Check. Mexican League Baseball? Check. Cockfights? Check. Sea-Doos (The Panty Dropper)? Check.

The Best of Eastbound and Down’s Kenny Powers

Having seen the entire HBO series, it’s difficult for me to say whether or not you need to have watched Eastbound & Down to understand who Kenny Powers is for this Best Of compilation to resonate.

All you really need to know is that Kenny Powers is ex-Atlanta Braves closer John Rocker, and that Ashley Schaeffer (Will Ferrell) is Ric Flair — professional wrestler turned BMW dealer.

I’m gonna shut up now and let Kenny “slap you with some truth you beautiful bitch.”
