Don’t All Michael Bay Movies Feel The Same?

Sometimes I get that ‘I feel like I’ve seen this before’ hunch while watching Michael Bay movies, and if I’m watching Transformers or Transformers 3, I’m probably right.

It’s not hard to pick on a guy who makes movies for 13-year-old boys, and I hate to jump on the bandwagon and do it, but he just makes it so damn easy.

What we don’t love is the same old lists of “best bits” again and again, so we’ve skipped over the obvious here: you don’t need us to tell you that The French Connection has one of the greatest car chases of all time, or that Erika Eleniak popping out of a cake in Under Siege is the best use of “surprise boobs in a naval hostage context” probably ever. Moral of the story goes something like: never trust a big black guy wearing sunglasses and a cape, offering you a magic pill that will enable your special powers in a world you could never imagine — especially when said other world could mean big black guy on top of a roofied, pantsless you in the bedroom next door.

To be fair though, this would have made for a much more interesting trilogy.
