What Your 2009 Halloween Costume Really Said About You

Posted on 02 Nov 2009 at 4:03pm

Our buddies at The Taco put together a pretty funny/accurate list, breaking down the cliche 2009 Halloween costumes.

Here’s an excerpt:

Lady Gaga

What You Thought It Said:

Hey, look at me! I’m up-to-date on general pop culture knowledge! I tore the hood off of my eskimo coat and put googly eyes on it all by myself, and I even bought large, stupid sunglasses because that’s how crafty and creative I am.

What It Really Said:

I always follow crowds and do whatever is trendy and cool at the moment, so why wouldn’t I wear the most popular costume of 2009?  That’s how I fit in!

What People Said About You:

“That’s the chubbiest Lady Gaga I’ve seen all night.”

Top 5 True Movie Posters of 2009

Every once in a while I get fooled into going to see a movie because I thought the trailer looked decent. I go, spend twelve bucks on a ticket and thirty bucks on a jug of soda and then walk out of the theater midway through the film because M. Night Shyamalan doesn’t know what the fuck he’s doing (please see this comic review).

For this reason, I present Banned In Hollywood’s Top 5 True Movie Posters of 2009.

5. Angels & Demons

4. Land of the Lost

3. Observe & Report

2. Transformers 2

1. Ghosts of Girlfriends Past

6. Juicy – Notorious B.I.G.

Lyrics:

Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis
When I was dead broke, man I couldn’t picture this

The first single off the debut album Ready To Die, Juicy chronicles Biggie’s rags to riches rise into hip-hop. While I’m sure Sega and SNES used to be hot products, one can be acquired today on eBay for less than $20. Or the cost of one crack rock. So I hear…

5. Changes – 2pac

Lyrics:

You gotta learn to hold ya own.
They get jealous when they see ya with ya mobile phone.
But tell the cops they can’t touch this.
I don’t trust this, when they try to rush I bust this.

A song about police brutality, racism, and poverty, Changes was one of 2Pac’s greatest singles, earning him the only posthumous nomination for best solo performance in Grammy history. Unfortunately for the Pac, no one is jealous of anyone else having a mobile phone because the only thing that’s ‘changed’ is that my niece and her 15 year old friends own a Blackberry… and they won’t stop texting me. Megan’s Law loophole, anyone?
